The enablers of robots

INNOVATORS BELIEVE ‘MUNDANE’ TASKS WILL BE DONE BY ROBOTS ‘Artificial intelligence is not going to replace humans... we will always be ahead.’

- Peter Feldman

he world of technology is expanding and developing at a frighteningly rapid rate – with young, dynamic individuals leading the pack.

Two such people are South African innovators Wayne Zwiers and Bongani Sithole.

From their offices in Parktown, Johannesburg, Zwiers and Sithole drive a start-up company, Black Beard. Described as a “business solutions disruptor”, it has made a substantial impact.

The men envisage a future where artificial intelligence will control a multitude of platforms.

While admitting that machines or computers will never totally replace humans, they believe there are some exciting daily tasks for robots, mundane and administrative tasks.

So successful has this young company become that they have branches in Pretoria and Cape Town, as well as recently launching their own footprint in Dublin, Ireland. There are plans to open an office in Eastern Europe, too.

Both in their 30s, these dynamic trailblazers are already being regarded as true global players in a fiercely competitive business world, no mean feat.

They are bright, articulate and inquisitive, keeping abreast of a world that changes at every heart beat.

Johannesburg-born Zwiers knew from an early age that he wanted to “run a business and do amazing things”. A wise and successful businessman once told him that to succeed in life he must follow his passion – and that is exactly what he has done.
