In-form Arrows pose huge threat

THEY ARE PLAYING WITH CONFIDENCE, PASSION

- Michaelson Gumede

After two weeks of inactivity, SuperSport United are back in action tomorrow afternoon in an Absa Premiership encounter against Golden Arrows at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

United will confront an Arrows side unbeaten under the guidance of Steve Komphela, who joined the side in late December. SuperSport coach Kaitano Tembo told the Saturday Citizen that plotting against an on-from side is a bit challenging.

“The game is very important to us and we will try to approach it with caution.

“I think they are playing with more confidence and more passion since coach Steve Komphela arrived and we can see that in the way they attack and they are now a very different team,” said Tembo.

“It is going to be difficult to try and prepare against them but at the end of the day we need to go out here and play our normal football, the way we always play. I think we have a chance to do well against them,” he added.

“It is not going to be an easy game but we have been preparing well. The last time we played was against Cape Town City and that time gave us an opportunity to try and work on a few combinations with our new players Mxolisi Macuphu and George Lebese and we are looking forward to it,” said Tembo.

“We need to try and stay in the top eight and that will only happen if we get a positive result against Arrows.

We want to distance ourselves from the bottom half and move as far up as we can. Our new signings are looking good, we just need to deal with a few areas but they add to the depth of the team and the quality as well.”
