Daryl, Ashleigh the star turns

Daryl Impey was the star of the SA Road Cycling Championships, wrapping up an impressive double on yesterday’s final day of competition in Pretoria.

Impey, who had won his eighth career national time trial title earlier in the week, took a solo victory in the 162km road race, defending his title in 3:35:30.

Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (CCC Liv) won the 136km elite women’s road race in 4:01:40, and Liezel Jordaan took the elite women’s 26km time trial in 38:48. – Wesley Botton
