Take the Bluestone to slam Hotshots

- Larry Foley

– There is something for everyone on the nine race card from Singapore tomorrow, including a Novice turf sprint that should see a couple of handy three-year-olds fight out the finish.

The two horses in question are Bluestone and Hotshots Slam and not much separates the pair on paper when they line up for Race 6.

Bluestone won very well on debut in ‘standard’ two-yearold Company, while Hotshots Slam ran third in the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe on the same day after also winning at his debut against older horses in June.

As three-year-olds they are also treated best at the race conditions.

However they will face challenges, especially from laststart winner in Ocean Crossing and Siam MP.

These two should keep them honest, as will the maiden Prime Time who could add value to exotics with no weight.

Elsewhere on the card, the Class 3 event over 2000m looks wide-open affair.

But King’s Speech, Star Jack and Majestic Empress all came through the same 1800m race on Derby day and all should figure heavily in the finish.

There are two poor Class 5 races on the card, whic h are probably best ignored, but there may be a good value option in Race 1 with Sportscaster showing enough of late in better races to have a say.

Best Bets: (Bluestone Race 6, Win), (Fame Star Race 8, Win), and (Sportscaster Race 1, value).

Jackpot: Race 6 (9 and 10), Race 7 (3, 4 and 6), Race 8 (1, 3 and 5), Race 9 (1, 4 and 11).
