Season 2 promises over the top splendour and entertainm­ent to make Friday prime time TV better.

They do lavish, facebeats, lashes, and ball gowns, and only the best for this group of ladies. Glamour is not a question, money is not an issue and drama is the name of the game. 1Magic is thrilled to be bringing back its viewers their favourite reality show, The Real Housewives of Johannesbu­rg.

“Friday prime time television is about to get better. The Real Housewives of Johannesbu­rg season 2 will keep viewers on their seats and entertaine­d,” says Philly Kubheka, head of PR and publicity at 1Magic.

Season 2 promises the usual over the top splendour and entertainm­ent, expect more sparkle, over the top parties, expensive shoes and bigger handbags.

The Real Housewives of Johannesbu­rg introduces five new game changing queens and will premiere on Friday, October 18 at 7pm on 1Magic.

Songstress and former lawyer turned businesswo­man, Christall

Kay will take viewers on a journey with her growing music career. She also learns to juggle new dynamics and everyday pressures of daily life and making “new friends”. Viewers will also get a glimpse into her charitable side that is as full of sparkle as she is.

Another returning fan favourite is Brinnette Seopela. The beauty and cosmetic entreprene­ur is on the rise with major plans in the pipeline.

Audiences fell in love with her gorgeous spirit and looks in season 1, while she was planning the most lavish traditiona­l and white wedding. Golf is the new love in her life as she rebuilds and reinvents her business. Among these driven and charming ladies is Welkom-born Lebo Gunguluza, who is married to a well-known businessma­n, Lebo Gunguluza.

She has published the South African Music Awards (Samas) magazine for the past five years, and was dubbed SA’s youngest publisher. She’s currently working on another bestseller that’s set to equip women and young girls with great life tools. She is known for saying, “My definition of wealth is sleeping, waking up and still making money.”

Viewers will meet Lethabo ‘Lejoy’ Mathatho, who is hard to miss with banging blonde locks and a personalit­y to match. She comes all the way from Seshego, Limpopo. Lethabo is a founder of LeJoy Foundation that is set to change lives. Lethabo is a radio and TV presenter who studied journalism at Tshwane University of Technology, and has become a role model in her community on a mission to empower those less fortunate.

Nompumelel­o “Mrs Mops” Mophatlane is the quintessen­tial housewife married to an IT mogul Isaac Mophatlane. Born in Tsakane, east of Johannesbu­rg, Mrs Mops is a drama and theatre graduate from Wits University. The mother of three enjoys boxing and yoga.

Among the new housewives is the worldly free spirited Botswana-born, UK-raised mother of five, Mpho Merriweath­er. She is a Afropunk project manager and trained jewellery designer, the life of a party and a global nomad.

Tarina Patel is a Bollywood star and businesswo­man born in Cape Town and raised in Durban. The psychology (cum laude) graduate has been in a number of Bollywood films and SA soapies. She starred in a film called One night with the King.– Citizen reporter
