TALKING ABOUT...

Mo Bro is moving for men’s health

In the month formerly known as November, “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sistas” across the world will once again rally to raise funds and awareness for leading men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancers, male depression and suicide prevention.

Long-standing Mo Bro Frederick Swanepoel is ahead of the game and showing others how to get the job done by supporting Movember through his Move initiative.

Swanepoel is planning to hit the gym every day in November, having pledged to do 30 minutes of cardio for 30 days.

He also completed the 24/7/365 Ultra Gravel last month and last year cycled 1 000km during November in support of the cause.

He has already raised over R5 000 for the Men’s Foundation.

Join him and move this Movember, and you can make a difference.

Walk, run, cycle, swim or row. A little or a lot. Solo or in a team. It’s not about being the fittest or going furthest. It’s about having fun and raising money.

Men’s Foundation chief executive and founder Garron Gsell said: “Men are facing a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. We have to make a stand and stop men dying too young, before their time.”

The foundation manages the Movember campaign in SA under license from the Movember Foundation.

This year’s campaign encourages everyone to grow, move or host – it will save a bro, by encouraging men to start the conversation, get tested and become more physically active.
