Listening to the disrespect­ful hat-wearing minister of police struggling through his written update on the crime status during lockdown makes one shudder at the forlorn condition in which this ill-discipline­d country finds itself. Our police force is absolutely in shatters! From top to bottom.

Anyone who sends their children back to school during this lockdown needs a psychiatri­st. The government cannot control the virus as it stands. Health workers in the hospitals are catching the virus. Schools in the UAE have shut down until 2021. Do not let your children go back to school.

The government put every citizen locked up in their homes, rightfully. But now they want to unlock criminals, also rightfully locked up in jail, to roam the streets. They will most certainly wear mask and gloves for their own purpose.

During elections, the ANC has vehicles with loud speakers on top blaring their news. Why can’t these same vehicles be used, especially in rural areas to promote: “Play your part. Stop the spread of Covid-19?”

Well, Mr President, when you announced that you needed three weeks’ lockdown to fix the health department, I thought at least there is one likeable person in the ANC. As the lockdown has dragged on to week nine, that thought has vanished.
