Carletonville has a new Lotto millionaire

-

The national lottery operator, Ithuba, has announce that the Lotto jackpot from the Saturday, 6 June draw has been won.

The lucky winner, who is not yet known to Ithuba, won an impressive R8 129 457.60 and spent R10 on the winning ticket using the manual selection method.

The winning numbers were 15, 16, 23, 36, 37, 38 and the bonus ball was 18.

The winning ticket was purchased at South Supermarket in Carletonville, Gauteng.

“We hope that the winner will make contact with us soon,” said Busisiwe Msizi, head of corporate relations at Ithuba.

“We encourage all players, especially those from the Carletonville region who recently visited the South Supermarket, to check their tickets.

“Once the winner comes forward, the first step will be to validate the winning ticket and offer the winner free trauma counselling and financial advice, as we do with all winners of R50 000 and above. Our main priority is to help the winner digest the news and for them to enjoy every step of this life-changing win.”

Since the lockdown restrictions were relaxed on 1 June, a number of players have visited Ithuba offices countrywide to claim their winnings, with the biggest claim so far being the R16 826 525.20 Lotto jackpot winner from the 16 May draw.

Ithuba is still waiting for this year’s biggest PowerBall Jackpot win of a massive R135 366 753 from the 28 April draw to claim their prize.

“We’d also like to inform our players that all tickets that expired during the lockdown, between 27 March and 1 June 2020, will be accepted for claims until 30 October 2020.

“No player sitting with a ticket that expired during this period should be anxious about losing their winnings,” added Msizi.

All players visiting Ithuba offiices will be required to wear a mask. – Citizen reporter
