Greeff runners tops in Pinnacle Stakes

Punters can also cash in on the Royal Ascot.

- Jack Milner

Since arriving in Port Elizabeth in August last year Meryl has recorded five wins and three places in eight starts.

She looks to extend her winning form at Fairview today in Race 5, a Pinnacle Stakes over 2400m on the turf. She won a Pinnacle Stakes over this distance in March, beating Indy Ice by 0.50 lengths.

As she was the best handicapped runner, Meryl did not receive a penalty, so she and Indy Ice meet at the same weight differential.

With the movement of jockeys restricted owing to the coronavirus Charles Ndlovu takes over on Meryl and Wayne Agrella is on Indy Ice.

An interesting prospect is Africa’s Gold. Having his first run for the Greeff yard last time, he won by six lengths over 2400m at Fairview, in 154,12sec. This was 1.85sec faster than Meryl completed the same distance and he will now get 3.5kg from his stable companion.

As a result, Africa’s Gold needs to be included in all bets. Jack Milner’s selections
