Sylvia Lucas, the deputy chair of the NCOP and a beneficiary of politicians’ largesse, should put herself into ordinary SA citizens’ shoes by giving up her free generator and then see if load shedding is ‘no big deal’.

When are the people in the ANC going to realise the cadres at Eskom have absolutely no idea how to run the power utility. President Cyril Ramaphosa says the end of load shedding is near. Now there is indefinite stage 6. Get rid of the useless hangers-on at Eskom and employ qualified people to run it.

Milton

Julius Malema and the EFF have stepped into the breach, giving voters who have zero understanding of how anything works the promises they want to hear. ‘Create four million jobs’ ... ‘end load shedding in six months’ .... ‘create a R100 billion wealth fund’ .... ‘increase handouts’. Unfortunately, 30 years of ANC rule has created the voter base who would believe this.

Midrand Mike

The DA is the party to vote for come election day. Why? Because in all the towns and cities where they govern, they succeed, unlike the ANC and EFF. The other parties will take years to show what they are worth. The guys that left the ANC and started their own parties are not to be trusted. The DNA is too strong.

Thanks, President Cyril Ramaphosa, for the funniest one-man stand-up comedy show I’ve seen in a long time. Thought the one about state hospitals was a classic. Trevor Noah, eat your heart out.

Instead of euthanising the Kruger National Park elephant, they should have shot the idiots who were attacking it.

Monday’s The Citizen refers: Ilan Preskovsky, I salute your letter because International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor is an anti-Semite to the utter degree. I never read Jennie Ridyard’s column as she talks a lot of rubbish, while sucking up to the ANC.

Gypsylee

Just want to mention that the ANC promises jobs for the unemployed, but what they don’t mention is that they employed hundreds of Cuban doctors and our SA doctors have no work.

We, the voters, are in for it. You have to choose one political party from more than 350 parties on one ballot paper. That’s why we are divided more than 1994 ... every Tom, Dick and Harry can start a political party. Do we have 350 ideologies? People must vote with an open mind.
