Bubbles galore at elegant festival

Bigger, better, bolder and bubblier than ever before! The Johannesbu­rg Cap Classique Champagne & Bubbles Festival is back.

This year it is on Friday, 17 May from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday, 18 May from 11am to 4pm. The festival will take place at the Inanda Polo Club in Sandton on both days.

Day 1: Cap Classiques from South Africa, Champagnes from France and Proseccos from Italy.

Your ticket includes a welcome glass of chilled bubbly; tastings of all the bubblies on display; a harvest table from By Word of Mouth caterers; access to the top winemakers to learn about the artistry and passion that goes into each bottle of their bubbly; live music from Veronique Lalouette and a DJ and saxophonis­t to kick the party into high gear.

Opulent decor, from crystal chandelier­s to velvet drapes will be the backdrop for an elegant evening you won’t forget.

Only 350 fortunate few will share this magical evening and each guest will receive two bottles of award-winning Cap Classique as a parting gift.

Dress code is Sophistica­ted Chic. Tickets cost R2 250pp from Webtickets.

Day 2. If you prefer a daytime soiree, then book tickets for Saturday, 18 May and enjoy a superb afternoon surrounded by all things bubbly as you immerse yourself in a sensory journey, sampling delicate Italian Proseccos, bold South African Cap Classiques and elegant champagnes from France.

Your ticket will include a souvenir crystal glass and 15 tasting coupons and there will be live music from the very talented Veronique Lalouette followed by a DJ and saxophonis­t to get you grooving on the dance floor. Dress code is Sophistica­ted Floral Chic. There are only 800 tickets available – at a cost of R450pp – and now available from Webtickets.

Some of producers that will be in attendance include Graham Beck, Amari, Khulu, Perdeberg, L’Ormarins, Tattinger and Veuve de Vernay. –
