Mahlatsi is not losing hope of finding a new club

-

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kamohelo Mahlatsi (below) is said to not be losing hope in his search for a new team, despite being turned away at numerous clubs since his departure from Amakhosi last year. The 25-year-old has attended trials a several clubs already, including another former club Moroka Swallows, but he couldn’t secure a deal with the Birds. Mahlatsi was released by Chiefs in September after failing to make an impact at the club despite having joined with high hopes. Things turned bad for the striker, with limited game time at the Naturena-based outfit being the main reason for his release. The former South Africa Under-23 player is said to be currently training with an amateur club to sustain his fitness while his hunt for a new club continues. It has been revealed that the striker was offered a contract by a club in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, but, the striker’s salary demands were not met by the team, which saw him turning down the offer. “It is very tough for him at the moment, because most of his peers are playing every weekend and he can’t find a team. I honestly thought that he was going to be signed at Swallows because they know him, but that was not the case. I don’t know what went wrong because he is a good player,” said the informant. “He is not letting his head drop because he knows something will happen soon. The good thing is that he is training every day to stay in shape. What happened at Chiefs is all in the past and some people see it as a huge flop. But he just wants to focus on the future and getting a new team.”
