ANC’s man attack on DA is just sheer cheek

-

Maepa is a recycled party political hack who nobody seems to take seriously, writes Tabs Moyane.

One must marvel at the sheer cheek of the latest utterances of ANC eminent person in Tshwane, Kgosi Maepa, formerly of the FW de Klerk organisation

He has laid two charges against Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen for “treason” over a flag advert ahead of the elections and the DA Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink over alleged irregularities around taxes.

The investigation will run its course and the law unfold; the cheek is the evident obsession he has with Steenhuisen, whom he vilified in the past for reportedly stealing a party colleague’s wife, as if it had anything to do with him if it were true, which it was not.

Why he now wants to go after the DA when, in years past, he was trying to negotiate himself with their help into becoming Tshwane mayor. He failed and his comrades voted him out of position.

His threats against unnamed ANC cadres, promising “pain and weeping”, and accusing them of “living a lie” could not have helped his prospects as a leader of the ruling party in the national capital.

Maepa is a recycled party political hack who nobody seems to take seriously; hence the need to pick up shine somehow by filing criminal charges against the DA and making a hullabaloo about his audacity.

Let democracy show the way. Both he and his party will be travelling, no doubt, towards a common historical rendezvous that is the dustbin, come the election results at the end of the month.

One hopes he can accept their oblivion.
