Constitution gives us chance to reconcile and expose truth

-

PE WILL never incur another drought provided we host regular sporting events. MARIUS POTGIETER OUR daughter begged Santa to bring her a tablet for Christmas. Imagine her face when her gift contained one tablet per day in the form of Ritalin. RICK O’SHEA NIGEL Wakeford, I have not “confused the State and the Church”. I rejoice every day that the state is secular. In 1994 the ANC gave us a wonderful constitution. And, despite being violently oppressed for many years, they also gave us a chance for truth and reconciliation! Christians have had a chance to demonstrate that “Christ is the solution.” It seems you fail to recognise that truth and reconciliation are the essence of the gospel. Fortunately, in the “new SA” we are protected by the state from dangerous religious fanatics like you, who want to impose outdated, barbaric laws in the name of God. JW ARE there any coloured cricket commentators out there who don’t say “bet” and “ped” SABC? JE I BELIEVE a good leader is someone who can tramp on your toes without messing up your shine. I cannot say the same of Zuma and his ANC, because whatever he does or touches, he leaves an enormous trail of mess behind, and that is what JZ and his ANC is all about. And, if they think they are too big to sink, remember the Titanic ship was dubbed unsinkable. Watch out ANC! ANTHONY L INDIRECTLY every person of any religion celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. From Jewish to Muslim, south to north, east to west. Glory to God. Amen. SHAMROCK REGARDING the noise on our beachfront. Come on residents, let’s march, burn tyres, maybe then our municipality might stop the noisy drunken parties and make them move to a non-residential area. Come on ratepayers! We live here. Must it deteriorate even more? MICHAEL MY point is not death for murderers who deny God, as I have been unwittingly portrayed by the Weekend Post’s misleading heading under which my SMS falls, but death for those who murder others. I would appreciate this misrepresentation be corrected. NIGEL WAKEFORD YES Charlton, I am anti-American with a passion. They are the biggest hypocrites and liars on the planet. Warmongering, criminality and corruption are the names of the game. We don't need their help and aid. They can go to hell for all I care. All superpowers in history are no more, and the United States will be no exception. They can keep their democracy (demon gone crazy), racism, depravity and shove it! READER SAVE us from Islamic State (IS) and Nigel Wakeford. It seems as if both would have your head. One for not believing in Christ, the other in Allah. Perhaps a solution would be for Abu Bakker Bagdadi and Nigel to unite in common cause. There seems very little difference between jihad and crusades and neither differentiate between church/ mosque and state. I’m personally in favour or a meritocracy. Let’s choose the best hatchet man from among their ranks. That we should even be having such an exchange in 2014 just goes to show how much we have evolved. One disgusted reader. TONY AND the prize for the best individual of the year to play hide-and-seek goes to . . . are there any suggestions? ANDREW GREAT to watch the opening of the season fireworks but we need to educate people to throw their rubbish in bins and not all over the pavements, lawns and roads. It’s an absolute disgrace and they should all have got a bin in their Christmas stockings and learn what they are actually used for. LAURA PE DEATH for murderers – Nigel Wakeford. Well-written piece. To Christ be the Glory. So many religious people and churchgoers, yet so few Christians. What penalty do you face when you commit a murder when faced with an intruder (thief) with a knife or gun to protect yourself or your family? Or when a drunken driver wipes out (murders) a family?
