- Weekend Post Reporter

TIMES Media Group Media Division managing director Mike Robertson has announced his retirement after 29 years with the company.

Andrew Bonamour, Times Media’s chief executive, said Robertson’s nearly three decades with the company had been successful.

“He has led the media business with excellence, passion and integrity for the past 12 years following his successful editorship of the Sunday Times and various other roles within the group over the years,” he said.

Bonamour named Andrew Gill, who heads the group’s broadcast and content division, as Robertson’s successor.

“Gill will be responsible for delivering continued profitability and sustainability in the division.

“He will also be developing a new generation of top management within the division in the short to medium term,” Bonamour said.

Robertson will retire at the end of May, but will remain in a consulting capacity for the group to ensure a smooth transition and handover.

Commenting on his retirement, Robertson said it had been his privilege to work with a group of exceptionally talented people in the Times Media Group for the past 29 years.

Times Media Group publishes The Herald and Weekend Post, among a range of other titles around the country.
