Dynamos stay top despite shock defeat

DESPITE suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of unfancied Eleven Angels on Saturday, Dynamos retained their position at the top of the Zafa Njeya Premier League with an emphatic 4-1 win over nearest rivals Young Professionals on Sunday.

Professionals had drawn level with Dynamos when they beat Seven United 3-1 on Saturday.

It was an excellent weekend for United Comrades who beat Bubs 2-1 and drew 0-0 with Seven to advance to third place.

Struggling Real Stars also had a profitable weekend picking up four points, drawing 2-2 with Fairway Stars and thrashing tailenders Ghetto Stars 3-0.

Ghetto are the only team in the league without a point.

Angels made the biggest gain, moving from ninth to fifth. In addition to beating Dynamos, they also beat Brazil Brothers 2-0.

PE SUNDOWNS blew their chances of going to the top of the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League at the weekend when they drew both their matches.

They drew 1-1 with both log-leaders Winter Rose and PE United.

Sundowns trail Rose by four points with a match in hand.

Red City also failed to close in on the log-leaders when they lost 2-0 to Roaring Tigers. They are tied with Sundowns in second place.

Bush Bucks picked up soft points against struggling Black Stars and are now just two points behind Sundowns and City.

In the relegation battle, City Defenders beat City Lads 4-1.
