Gold rapper unpacks dream tour

XHOSA rapper iFani, who achieved his #1stDayGold dream selling more than 20 000 copies on release day, is about to tour the nation.

The Port Elizabeth rapper will launch on May 29 in Johannesburg and from there head straight to his home province for his first stop.

“I didn’t doubt I would make my dream a reality. I am thankful to all who supported me on this campaign,” iFani said.

IFani’s second album, I Believes In Me: Second Quadrant, is the rapper’s last project with Sony Music. His deal with the leading recording label has come to an end.

“Our deal was for two albums and they have that now. I am on my own now,” he said.

The South Africa Music Awards (Sama) best rap album winner said his “I Believe In Me: Motivational and Entertainment tour” would solely depend on sponsorships.

“Like my 1stDayGold dream, this one is possible too,” he said.

He said the tour would see him spend the whole of next month in the Eastern Cape doing shows with performances and motivational talks.

“My first stop in the Eastern Cape will be in Port Elizabeth. I will spend a week there visiting schools, radio stations and signing CDs. On the weekend we will have a big show for the entire city and then I will move to East London and other towns,” he said.

The former Stumbo Stomp Amapantsula show presenter said his aim was to “share what I have with the people. If someone like me can dream and make it possible, what is stopping them? I hope to challenge people to live their lives to their full potential,” iFani said.

The rapper will be visiting Mthatha, Grahamstown, Queenstown and East London, also making stops in smaller towns along the way.
