PE Sundowns score an easy win

BUSH Bucks had their lead in the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League cut down to one point on Sunday when Roaring Tigers held them to a 1-1 draw at the Chevrolet Stadium.

Closest challenger­s PE Sundowns scored an easy 4-1 win over struggling City Defenders at Zwide Stadium on Saturday.

Red City remain third despite sharing the points with Stinging Bees in a 1-1 draw.

Dodgers dropped three places from eighth after being thrashed 6-2 by City Lads, who move up two places to ninth.

In a surprise result, CCX Callies, still just one place away from bottom of the log, held highly ranked Friendly City to a 3-3 draw.

THERE were no easy matches in the Nafa Premier League over the weekend as all the leading teams had to work for their points.

Log-leaders Park United beat traditiona­l rivals Fairview Rovers, who are outside the top eight, 5-2.

It was a good weekend for Glenville, who beat Saints 3-2 on Friday and Fairdene 1-0 the following day to move up to second place.

It was another close call for Helenvale who dropped to third. After being held to a 1-1 draw by Celtic last week they sneaked home to a 1-0 win over Saints on Sunday.

Early log-leaders Blackpool edged out Celtic 3-2 and are tied with Helenvale.

It was another excellent performanc­e by Celtic, who are two places from the bottom of the log.
