Crucial Nafa fight on for Glenville

- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

ALL eyes in the Nafa premier soccer league will be on the match between Glenville and Helenvale on the Errol Heynes field in Gelvandale on Sunday.

Glenville trail log-leaders Park United and cannot afford a slip-up again, following a shock defeat at the hands of tail-enders Booysens Pride last week.

Helenvale suffered a similar fate against Booysens Pride the previous week.

In the first round, Glenville and Helenvale drew 1-1.

Meanwhile, Park United must repeat their first-round victory to stay ahead of the chasing pack when they play Stardrift, on the Marock Road field.

West Lake, who also had a setback last week, must reverse a firstround defeat by Celtic when the two sides clash in Windvogel to stay in touch with the frontrunners.

The fixtures are:

WITH the Mofa Build-It premier league completed, the focus shifts to the first division – with seven teams battling it out for three promotion positions.

In a nail-biting finish, Highland Spurs clinched the Mofa premier title on goal difference, after finishing level on points with Crystal Palace. Motherwell United are relegated. With just one match remaining, City Rangers are assured of the first division title.

They cannot be overtaken even if they lose to relegation candidates NU2 United on Sunday.

The match of the weekend, however, should be the clash between Happy Stars and Real City in a game neither can afford to lose.

Stars are second, three points ahead of City, who still have a match in hand.

Motherwell United and Young Ideas also clash in a must-win encounter. United are two points ahead of Ideas.
