African Aces head for league glory

AFRICAN Aces have an excellent chance of being crowned the Wafa premier league soccer champions this weekend.

The log leaders play Manchester United tomorrow and tail-enders Umanyano on Sunday. United are deep in the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the clash between Mabayibone Strikers and Ghetto Stars, who are second and third on the log.

Both teams have a match in hand and are separated by a point. They trail Aces by five and six points respective­ly.

Peace United, who are tied with Ghetto in third place, play struggling Airport Valley City.

With four matches in hand, Golden Heroes could sneak into second place, ahead of Mabayibone, Ghetto and United.

They play Airport Valley City tomorrow and Gwala Stars on Sunday, and should win both matches easily.

BUSH Bucks could pull away from the chasing pack in the Nebfa Sedgars premier league tomorrow when they play Real White City, who are 21 points adrift, at the Chevrolet Stadium.

Nearest challenger­s PE Sundowns also have an easy match, against Eastern Jumpers.

Red City, who are the only other team still in with a chance for league honours, should have the beating of PE Rovers, who are just outside the relegation zone.

Relegation candidates CCX Callies and City Defenders both face tough matches.

Callies play City Lads while Defenders take on Roaring Tigers.
