Fun for family at kids, baby expo

-

KIDS rule at the Eastern Cape’s largest family expo! Celebrating its seventh year, the expo will provide indoor educational and entertainment for the whole family as well as a special symposium feature for expectant moms.

The expo will take place at the Boardwalk’s exhibition level on Friday and Saturday October 7 and 8 from 9am to 6pm, as well as Sunday October 9 from 9am to 5pm, the last weekend of the school holidays, ensuring kids end off their break on a high note.

Event headline sponsor First Choice places special focus on health and wellness for families with germ-free (GF) dairy products produced in the heart of the Eastern Cape at Woodlands Dairy, from predominantly pasture-fed cow’s milk ensuring it is safe for the whole household.

Kids will take centre stage again this year as budding little chefs put their smoothie making skills to the test for the First Choice Smoothie competition.

Contestants will be selected from the audience each day to make their smoothie, judged by the Boardwalk’s executive sous chef, Darrel Brussow, with cool prizes up for grabs.

The Herald First Choice Kids and Baby Expo will offer the same jam-packed weekend of fun that kids have got to know, love and look forward to each year.

Parents can also look out for special offers, exhibitor competitions and product sampling opportunities all under one roof.

This year, the expo launches a new initiative which will dovetail with the opening day of the expo.

Aimed at health professionals, expectant parents and parents of premature and multiple birth babies, the Preemie & Me Parent symposium will be held on October 7, from 9am to 1pm.

The symposium, presented by Little Big Souls and supported by Natus newborn care, provides an opportunity to hear from top professionals in the industry who will share knowledge and know-how needed to care for newborn and premature babies. Registration starts at 8.30am from the Boardwalk exhibition level at R250 per person and includes a goodie bag, tea, lunch and free entry into The Herald First Choice Kids & Baby Expo. Register at www.harwoodevents.co.za/babyexpo_symposium

The Kids & Baby Expo will include indoor entertainment and fun; creativity and crafts; family wellness and nutrition; growth and education; furniture and decor; clothing and sport; photography and home appliances, travel and leisure; food and drink. The list is endless!

Nearly 100 exhibitors will sell and market their products and services to all expectant parents, parents and teachers, and children up to the age of 12.

There will be a comfortable baby changing area and private feeding area for new moms.

Entrance will be R40 for adults and R20 for kids and tickets will be sold at the entrance to the expo on the weekend.

ý Keep an eye out for the Kids Rule! Family competition which launches next Friday with a whopping R70 000 in prizes. For updates, follow the Kids and Baby Expo Facebook page.
