LOOK PAST RACE

IS it not time to stop these racial comments? We are one nation. The DA has vowed to look after the poorest of the poor and if it is able to stop the corruption that took place over the past 20 years, there will be enough money to make a difference in our city. Please stop looking at colour now!

FORMER ANC SUPPORTER

OOPS, poor Disappointed northern areas resident (“Mayoral team announced”, August 26). Does this person still see colour? Please join the world in the 21st century.

NEED CLUBHOUSE

READER

TO Disappointed northern areas resident, the new mayoral committee is based on qualification and hopefully on personality (able to deal with rainbow people), not on the colour of the skin. When are those kind of comments going to stop?

B GUERRA

TO all those critics obviously wrong again, the DA has the heart to make the difference, more in the long run and more in delivery. It is not there to showboat, but get consensus and cooperation from all, for all and probably more than maybe you deserve. It is stuck between a rock and a hard place in an attempt to salvage what has been perverted and corrupted as the people have spoken. Stop looking at the face of things, but the will and heart to make a change for the good.

SERVICE DELIVERY

WILDROSE

WATER has been running for weeks now, causing major potholes on Old Uitenhage Road close to Despatch. Save water please.

VERNON NAIDOO

BIG thank you. After my complaint about a dead streetlight (“Streetlight still not fixed”, August 24), the problem was sorted out the same day. Well done.

LEON, MANGOLD PARK, PORT ELIZABETH

THE SMS of Mike, Glen Hurd (“DA improving delivery”, August 24) refers. What a lot of twaddle about services. I’m sure it’s nothing to do with DA so-called “magic”. I experienced some of these services also during Danny Jordaan’s tenure.

BILL (NON-DA OR ANC MEMBER)

ADVOCATE Busisiwe Mkhwebane is the winner and I am very happy for her (“Mkhwebane new public protector frontrunner”, August 25). I identified her from the time they were being interviewed and I realised that she was the best candidate to replace Thuli Madonsela. I hope she will take Madonsela’s office to the next level. I want to thank Madonsela for being a good public protector and I will be very happy if she can be available for advice when asked to do so.
