Trainer's comments on first timers running at Turffontein and Greyville

-

TURFFONTEIN

JOE SOMA: Race 2 No (8) DEVADIP: He is a very nice horse but will have a bad draw to overcome. One never knows how green these first timers will be but I am nevertheless expecting him to finish in the first four.

GEOFF WOODRUFF: Race 2 No (9) PRIVATE SWAROVSKI and No (11) SINGAPORE SLING: They are both nice horses with Singapore Sling being the more forward of the two and I am expecting them to be concerned in the placings.

GARY ALEXANDER: Race 3 No (3) AFRICAN RHUMBA and No (9) SEEKING GOLD: They are both looking for further and will be green. They have Place chances at best.

DAVID NIEUWENHUIZEN: Race 3 No (4) DELIGHTFUL DANCER: She is a nice filly but is still way off full maturity. She shows nice work but does still need to strengthen, in saying that, I am expecting a big run and she should go close.

CORNE SPIES: Race 3 No (5) GOLDEN ROAD and No (7) MISS ZENOBIA: They should both be very green and need much further but they need to start racing. I am not expecting much from either of them.

GREYVILLE

FRANK ROBINSON: Race 1 No (3) COUP DE TONNERRE: Trainer chose not to comment. DENNIS DRIER (STUART FERRIE ASSISTANT TRAINER): Race 1 No (10) SAZERAC: She is a nice filly and has Quartet chance.

LIZANNE FORBES: Race 2 No (9) SOME SAY: He will need the experience. GREG AND KAREN ANTHONY: Race 2 No (10) STORM HERO: He is a nice horse and is starting to come to hand now. He is working well but we would have preferred him making his debut over 1200m. He will need experience and might need the run. GAVIN VAN ZYL (ASSISTANT TRAINER GARETH VAN ZYL): Race 2 No (12) VENICE IN MAY: He is a nice horse and should be competitive. KOM NAIDOO: Race 3: No (10) OLD MONEY: She will need the run and is looking for further.
