TIME TO RESTORE LAW AND ORDER

#FEESMUSTFALL has gone from a legitimate protest to open rebellion and civil war. Stop mollycoddling these thugs and criminals. Time to restore law and order. FED UP

IT is time the pathetic universities stand up to the thugs from #FMF. Where are the rights of those that do pay and want to study? CONCERNED, EAST LONDON UNRULY students. As a resident of Gomery Avenue, hopefully police arrest all the idiotic so-called students and put them in jail until their parents, and only they, can have them released, not for R50 bail. See what happens then. No requests for bail money on Facebook or food paid for by university for them from Kentucky either. GET TOUGH

TO all students, one question. Ask yourselves this: What would Madiba say if he was right here, right now, watching you? Answer our icon, looking him in the eye, and be honest. No bull. What do you think he would say? RB

WHY SO MUCH JAYDE TRIAL COVERAGE?

JAYDE trial – surely there is more important news to have on the front pages? Why are you giving this case so much media coverage? RONEL

BAY CONDEMNED TO WATER CRISIS

MINISTER Nomvula Mokonyane is not suitable for the portfolio she holds. After many scandals, she now condemns the residents of Nelson Mandela Bay to a water crisis. This is the last straw. Shame on you, Nomvula. You have hammered another nail into the coffin of our beloved ANC. D R GALLOWAY

DA WILL FIX PROBLEMS IN KOUGA

WHY in your editorial are you telling us about the non- existent and poor state of the Kouga vehicle fleet. What else did you expect from the ANC? The DA will fix it. RB

WHAT IS NEW PUBLIC PROTECTOR UP TO?

SOUNDS to me as though the new public protector’s loyalties lie more with the ANC fatcats than with the public.

L NAN, FERNGLEN IS the new public protector’s job to discredit Thuli Madonsela? That is all she’s been doing since she took over. CITIZEN

PUZZLED BY CREATION OF MAN

HOW could a loving creator create such a beautiful world with all its magnificent animals and plants, then guarantee its destruction on the sixth day? PUZZLED

LET ALLISTER DO HIS JOB

IS Allister Coetzee out of his depth or wise to ask other coaches for help? If he is to succeed, he needs to pick whoever he wants and not be told who to pick. BOK FAN NOT ENOUGH GOOD PLAYERS FOR SIX TEAMS KINGS sign 12 new players that they found somewhere on the scrap heap. Even if they were allocated R100-million, there are just not enough good players in the country for six Super Rugby teams. A MYBURGH, CENTRAL

QUALITY CONTENT IN THE HERALD

I HAVE just returned after four days in Port Elizabeth and want to commend you for the quality of your news content. In Cape Town I have stopped buying The Argus and Cape Times because of the extremely poor content. If I were living in PE, I would buy The Herald as I did every day I was there. NEVILLE WOUDBERG, CAPE TOWN Editor’s reply: Thank you for your kind words, Mr Woudberg.

FIRE DEPARTMENT NEEDS FRESH RECRUITS

FIRE department capture. I totally agree with my colleague. I have been working in the department for 25 years and the quality of recruits coming through has been shocking. Management have for years turned a blind eye to the nepotism and family members being employed. A new shortlist must be drawn up so young people between 18 and 28 can be employed. We need young and energetic people for the future. PASSIONATE AND PROUD FIREMAN
