Six armed men ransack Uitenhage spaza shop

A SPAZA shop in KwaNobuhle, Uitenhage, was robbed by a gang of six armed men at the weekend.

The men forced open the door of the Amanzi Street shop at about 9pm on Sunday and held the owner at gunpoint while ransacking the shop.

Police spokesman Captain Gerda Swart said airtime, cigarettes and groceries were stolen.

“After stealing items with an undisclosed value, the robbers fled the shop on foot,” she said. – Gareth Wilson
