Continental eyes f irst prize

- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

MAXIMUM points from their double header will see Continental home and dry in the Safa-NMB Women’s League this weekend with a match to spare.

The log leaders, who have a five-point lead, play NMMU Madibaz at the Wolfson Stadium tomorrow and Hearts at the Lawson Brown High School on Sunday.

While the students, who are locked in the battle for third spot, could dash Continental’s hopes, Hearts should be a pushover.

Highbury will go into their double-header hoping their Pefa neighbours stop Continental to give them a sniff at the title.

They play Warriors tomorrow and Kubs on Sunday, both in Bridgemead.

African Chiefs, who are leading the race for third, play Zwide All Stars at the Zwide Stadium tomorrow and Warriors at the Dower College field on Sunday. They should win both matches comfortably.

Fixtures:

Tomorrow: Zwide All Stars v African Chiefs (Zwide Stadium), Highbury v Warriors (Bridgemead), Nobuhle Ladies v Bodene Shatterprufe (Jabavu Stadium), Young Aces v Vuku Wanderers (Veeplaas), Continental v NMMU Madibaz (Wolfson), PE United v Hearts (New Brighton Oval). Sunday: Hearts v Continental (Lawson Brown), Warriors V African Chiefs (Dower College), Vuku Wanderers v Tomorrow Stars (New Brighton Oval), Highbury v Kubs (Bridgemead).
