NPA SHOULD ENGAGE BRAIN BEFORE ACTING WHY do the highly paid members of our government and their lapdog NPA as represented by Shaun Abrahams not put their brains into gear before attacking Gordhan and company? Surely Abrahams must have realised the effect of his actions on the value of our rand – and the knock-on effect on the fuel price and our pockets. Taxpayers pay for wise government but we get stupidity instead. Now all South Africans must pay much more for a tank of fuel through no fault of our own. ANC must fall.

TREVOR MOORE

MR Abrahams, I sincerely hope you are not vegan. Just imagine all that egg on your face! And all because you are a blind follower of that “all-knowing, singing, dancing and giggling” little man.

RICHARD, CHARLO THE interference by politics in the judiciary is plain to see with the withdrawal of charges against Pravin Gordhan – a precedent set when charges against JZ were withdrawn and now being brought against him – and the unfortunate NPA’s head being called for. Commit the crime and pay the price.

FRANK

ANC, please recall Jacob Zuma and Des van Rooyen as they are an embarrassment to our country.

ROB

ANC POLITICALLY, MORALLY BANKRUPT COUNCIL brawl. The ANC has run out of ideas. Instead of political opposition engagement, they resort to thuggery. This reflects political bankruptcy on the part of ANC.

HERALD READER

MORALLY unashamed councillors dancing in front of TV. In court for acts of thuggery. They are the cancer that kills our beloved, respected ANC. I am embarrassed . . .

SOKIDO

NO NEED TO GLOAT OVER DELIVERY “KEEP up the good work, Mr Mayor” (The Herald, October 31). For the umpteenth time, someone writes in regarding white lines being painted on the roads. While this is extremely boring, I guess it reflects a change from the non-performance of these “normal” duties under the previous ANC-run municipality. However, DA supporters (I am one) must please stop the gloating. Over time the changes will be there for all to see.

GARTH

COWS again. Come on Diane, give Athol Trollip’s council a break. In three months they have done wonders in correcting the wrongs of a shameful 20 years-plus of ANC rule.

BRUNO PARENTS MUST FIGHT FOR THEIR KIDS “PARENTS must stand up” (executive mayor Trollip). It is time, if authorities can no longer protect our children, that parents do it. Let us use our skills we were trained in. Let us use our lawyers to guide us and let us use our people of all races, the parents, to fight and evict this small group of self-centred students!

CHRIS, PE

YOU are quite right AVC (“NMMU withdraws as complainants”).The state prosecuted on behalf of the people . . . Unfortunately the prosecuting authorities in PE have proved themselves to be weak and have assisted those accusers to be weak and have assisted those accused of the violence to escape justice.

TN

STOP THE PYJAMA PARADE I LIVE in the northern areas and I agree with others that our mothers should be an example to our children and not parade in PJs. It’s despicable!

MARTIN WELL DONE TO PE’S OWN MAD MAX

WELL done to Sergeant Severiano Blundin of the PE flying squad for an outstanding performance. Our own Mad Max. Keep up the good work. We are proud of you. You served us well. Thank you for what you have done for us so far. Oh my word, 103 vehicles! You are the man.

PROUD RESIDENT LET DA RUN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT RE lifts out of order at Provincial Hospital. Disgraceful. Simple solution – let the DA take over the running of the province, which includes the health department.

BRUNSWIG DELAY IN PAYMENT OF TAX REFUNDS

WHY is it that SARS, which has now outsourced its refunds of tax to an outside organisation, takes months to assess and pay out these so-called refunds? If outsourcing leads to this decline in service delivery, then what is the point in SARS doing it themselves? Please, Mr Moyane, this was not the deal.
