Sun to shine in Oklahoma Sky

- Herald Racing Editor

AFTER all the excitement of the Algoa Cup it is back to bread-and-butter racing at Fairview tomorrow.

Race 6 is the main event on the card and will be run over 1 300m at 1625 for which 10 runners will face the starter. It is a very open contest but Oklahoma Sky could have the measure of her rivals.

The three-year old daughter of Tiger Ridge is trained by Alan Greeff and will have Teaque Gould in the saddle. She has won three of her first five starts.

In her last race she was beaten 2,75 lengths by Summer Cruise over 1 000m, but Gould can make it three out of six for owner Mrs CJ Boyers. However, it is interesting to note that stableelect jockey Greg Cheyne is aboard Money Penny.

Formerly trained by Dennis Drier, Money Penny will make her debut at Fairview and could need the run. Money Penny has recorded one win from seven starts in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Wild Mistress is also in with a big chance. Raymond Danielson rides the daughter of Rebel King for the Tara Laing yard.

In her last race she was just 1,70 lengths off the winner and Danielson is set to improve on that performance.

Patty Cake also makes her debut in the Eastern Cape having moved down from the Highveld where she was trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren. She has one win from 16 outings and will have Louis Mxothwa in the irons.

Dance In The Woods, Just Lucky, La Manga, Varlotone and Ashwal are by no means out of it.

Racing starts at 1325 with a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1 000m and Ring O’ Var could get punters off to a winning start.
