Close encounter expected at Saints

IT will be anybody’s game when Hearts play Showvillage United Brothers at the Saints fields this evening.

Both teams are level on points just inside the top eight in a league which remains unpredictable as the teams head for halfway in the first round.

With a double-header at the weekend, NMMU Madibaz can go to the top of the log with maximum points.

They play Showvillage at the NU2 Stadium tomorrow and host Golden Aces at their Second Avenue campus on Sunday.

With Showvillage playing their second match in less than 24 hours, the students will back themselves.

However, they may struggle against Aces as it will be their second match in two days.

Log-leaders Mabayibone Strikers play Young Cosmos in a Wafa derby at the Walmer High School field tomorrow. On current form the smart money will be on Strikers.

In what could be the match of the weekend, Fairview Rovers and Central Acemates clash at the Westbourne Oval on Sunday.

Rovers had a disappointing double-header last week, picking up just one point.

Acemates, on the other hand, won both their matches and are now just a point behind the northern areas outfit, who still have not lived up to their pre-season expectations.
