UMHLOBO Wenene FM presenter Pastor The DJ has a new single out, titled Hurting Me, featuring Zain.

Pastor The DJ – real name Phiwe Nozewu – said he was working on releasing a full album early next year.

“I have been releasing mixes on the radio for some time and people have been asking for an album,” Pastor the DJ said.

After years of releasing mixes on radio and playing across the country, the DJ has signed up with East London-based label Asanda Empires.

“I know Asanda from way back. Before starting his label, he told me about it and asked me to send my music, and I did,” he said.

“I am a firm believer of artists staying here in our province and making it big in the industry from here.”

Since opening in May, Asanda Empires has already signed nine artists and has a licensing deal with Universal Music.

“We are planning on releasing the album next year, end of January,” Nozewu said.

He had worked with a number of Eastern Cape artists on the upcoming album, the artists said.

Zain is featured on Sphe and Naves’s I do I do single. He has also been on SABC1 and SABC2.

Nozewu said the single was receiving a positive response from the public.

It is available from digital stores.
