AFTER a week’s break from the Premier Soccer League, Chippa United return to the grindstone tonight to take on Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium (7.30pm).

The Chilli Boys will go into the game with their confidence levels on a high after beating Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in their previous league fixture.

The victory saw the Port Elizabeth side break their seven-game winless streak.

Chippa made an impressive comeback in the second half from a goal down to score three goals in the second half against the Soweto giants.

They will be expected once more to perform the same act of bravery in tonight’s game against City.

After their win against Amakhosi, Chippa coach Dan “Dance” Malesela said the victory would take some pressure off the players going to their next encounter.

He, however, said he did not want to sound complacent and say that they would definitely win tonight against Polokwane.

“We needed some kind of motivation for the players and also [to] relieve a bit of pressure on them and let them be able to feel comfortable,” Malesela said.

“I have been putting a lot of pressure on them, I have been hard and some people have been crying. I have been insulting at training because we are trying to get things right.

“We cannot be perfect but we are trying to find reasons for doing things at training, because a lot of time people do things and there is no reason,” he said.

“Going forward the win will help, but I cannot start becoming complacent and say ‘Oh OK the next game we are going to win or this is going to happen in the future.

“We will take each game as it comes.”

Chippa are 10th on the log with 13 points from 11 games.

Meanwhile, the Limpopo side who are fourth with 18 points from eight games, will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.
