White Tiger earns its stripes

- Brett Adkins

SINCE it opened several months ago, the White Tiger Bar and Cafe in Humewood has made quite a name for itself as the trending party spot on the promenade.

And now with the holiday vibe truly upon us, this chill zone – a literal hop and a skip from the beach – will no doubt become a veritable filling station for parched sun worshippers.

Situated in the bar and bistro cluster of Dolphin’s Leap, it’s a breezy anecdote to hot summer days.

Expect to be entertained with imaginative cocktails as you do some people- watching while parking off on tall barstools with a 180° view of the Beach Road walkways.

You should also be in prime position to check out the Opening of the Season fireworks tonight.

White Tiger is also beachy by nature inside and lives up to its name by being decorated in wicker, bamboo and earth-coloured furnishings. Eclectic murals add to the bohemian ambience.

Call Me An Uber means exactly what it says – a combination of no fewer than five spirits, mixed with cranberry and pineapple juice, that will have you calling for another round before you call Uber.

Also calling out is the Cosmopolitan with vodka, cranberry juice and Triple Sec shaken with ice, along with a mojito, pina colada and Long Island ice tea.

In addition, there is a range of classic wine labels on offer, as well as value-for-money house wines – by the glass or bottle – bubbly, a full range of spirits (including high-end whiskies), shooters, bottled beers and Black Label and Castle Lite draught on tap.

On the munchies front, sticky pork ribs, buffalo wings, burgers, pizzas and salads will hit the hunger spot.
