PAINT MARKINGS PLEASE

PLEASE, Mr Mayor, while I sincerely appreciate what your administration is doing to improve matters in this metro, I and my car’s shock absorbers would be even more grateful if you could prioritise the painting of markings on speed humps. Even if one encounters an “invisible” speed hump at the recommended speed of 60km/h, one will ramp said speed hump. The garages of Nelson Mandela Metro must be doing a roaring trade in repair and replacement.

NO LEEWAY FROM NZ GOVERNMENT

CONOR Ward (“Rules chase away tourists”, December 19), at least the SA government was considerate in letting New Zealanders travel to SA without a visa until January 16 next year. Those of us travelling to NZ for Christmas were not granted the same privileges by the NZ government.

PRAYING NOT THE WAY

PASTOR Joan Keeling must have very little faith (“Special prayer service at City Hall asking for rain”, December 15). Be careful of what you ask for or you might get more then you need. How in the world can one ask for rain? God knows what you need, all you have to do is have faith and believe that it will rain. Rather be thankful for the little rain we have had.
