Pamper yourself while the children play

THE latest edition to children’s entertainment in Port Elizabeth, the Petite Boss coffee shop and children’s centre, is a venue not to be missed if you need some time away from the little bosses for a pamper session or just some silence.

Newly opened Petite Boss has partnered with beauty company Glamour Zone to bring a new experience where mom and child can both be pampered at the same time.

Owner Lynn Erasmus van Vuuren, who came up with the idea, said she had spent much of her life as a waitress, which was an environment she always enjoyed since it brought constant interaction with people.

“I thought of what I could do since closing ‘Your Money’ community newspaper in December last year; something that wouldn’t alienate my two kids and that’s where the kids-friendly coffee shop idea came from,” said Erasmus van Vuuren .

“I thought of the beauty aspect where perhaps mom could get a pamper session while the little one was playing,” she said.

Well positioned on the corner of Stanley and Mackay Streets in Richmond Hill, Petite Boss offers fun activities for children not only to occupy them but entertain, educate as well as keep their brains stimulated. This ranges from educational puppet shows and sit-down and colour-in activities through to Xbox for the older kids.

Petite Boss, which opens at 7.30am from Mondays to Sunday, is running a special until January 10 where children five years and older can enjoy a marionette and puppet show and build their own pizza with Chef Bruno.

It runs from 10am to 12pm at R120 per child, which includes a milkshake with pizza, and entertainment.

The only days they won’t be open are Christmas and Boxing Day, as well as New Year’s Day and January 2.

Petite Boss is also available for private functions and family dinners.

The menu accommodates the wheat, diary, sugar and gluten intolerant.

Children’s programme includes:

10am-12pm: Marionette and puppet show with Chef Bruno. Cost of R120 includes a milkshake, pizza and entertainment.

4pm-6pm: Make your own cupcake from scratch and decorate it. Cost of R50 also includes a juice.

Beauty treatments include:

Mani or pedi or 30-minute back massage plus cake of the day and coffee at R170;

Kids’ milkshake, pancake and puppet-show entertainment at R65.
