Grey beat Pearson in all four matches

-

GREY High’s cricket teams dominated against Pearson over the weekend, winning all four of their matches.

Pearson 1st XI won the toss and sent Grey in to bat on a bowler-friendly pitch and a slow outfield and, although Pearson bowled well up front, Grey were equal to the task.

Grey then lost two wickets in an over.

Ross Fourie was patient as he led the way scoring a solid 48, as Grey recovered.

The Grey batsman all chipped in on a pitch that proved more difficult as the day went on.

Grey were eventually bowled out for 197.

The Grey bowlers bowled with good discipline.

Opening bowlers Campbell de Wet and Tiaan van Vuuren made it difficult for the Pearson batsmen to score.

Grey introduced spin and, with the run rate increasing, started making inroads.

The spinners took eight wickets between them, with Connor de Lange the star of the show with five for 11 from eight overs.

Pearson were all out for just 91 to hand Grey a convincing victory by 106 runs.
