The super sprint distance race for the youth will comprise a 300m swim, 10km cycle and 2.5km run.

Pre-race registration for the event, hosted by About IT, will take place at News Cafe, Boardwalk, today between 5pm and 7pm.

This meet-and-greet opportunity will also include some great lucky draw prizes and the last chance for late entries.

Racing in the championships is open to all, with only EPTA registered participants available for provincial selection.

The youth race is open to participants between the ages of 12 to 15, with the race starting at 7.15am tomorrow.

The sprint distance is open to all those 16 years and older, while the Olympic distance is for all those 20 years and over.

About IT, sponsors of the popular Triathlon Summer Series which takes place during December, have agreed to extend their sponsorship to include the EP Championships this year and will be supported by hydration partner High 5, and support sponsors Caltex Eastern Cape, Dynamic Express Services, Oracle Media and the Kelston Motor Group.

The best spectator vantage point will be at the transition area on the grass behind the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club.
