Two top Scott cycles up for grabs in Cycle Tour

-

TWO lucky Herald Continental Cycle Tour riders will be the proud owners of a new road or mountain bike courtesy of Scott Sports South Africa, with a total value of almost R125 000.

The event’s official bike partner, Scott Sports, is giving away a Scott Spark 920 and Scott Foil 20 in a lucky draw after the MTB and road race prizegivings.

Scott Sports South Africa marketing and product manager Phillip Erasmus said the company was no stranger to the Cycle Tour, having started in Port Elizabeth many years ago under the Probike banner.

“We have always been supportive of the event,” he said.

“It’s one of the big single-stage races in South Africa and, as it takes place in our backyard, it makes perfect sense to partner with such a longstanding esteemed event.”

Scott Sports will also be assisting in the form of mechanical back-up on the route through their dealers in Port Elizabeth – Wayne Pheiffer Cycles and Coimbra Cycles.

“So we look forward to all the riders making their way to the finish line safely and enjoying a fun day out on their bikes with their families,” Erasmus said.

With the combined value of the two prizes -- the Scott Spark 920 and Scott Foil 20 – at R124 500, be assured these bikes feature the latest and greatest innovations the world of Scott has to offer.

The Spark 920 is based on the same platform which helped mountain biking world champion Nino Schurter race to glory last year.

“These bikes are race-ready and would be a welcome asset to any cyclist’s arsenal,” Erasmus said.

The Spark 920 has always been a go-to choice for single-track riders and racers who need performance and reliability with an unbeatable parts package.

Now, more than ever, this 120mm-travel bike is the one to choose. The new 920 Spark frame design features a new suspension linkage and Boost hub spacing.

It wears supple FOX suspension for high-speed trail manoeuvres, plus a complete Shimano XT component group and FOX dropper post.

“The legend of the Foil continues, and things are about to get

even better,” Erasmus said.

The Foil 20 has been designed to be even more aerodynamic, more comfortable, and to still have that incredible, laterally stiff nature of its predecessor.

Featuring an HMF carbon fibre frame, and integrated Syncros components, the Foil 20 is a raceready machine.
