Saints get better of Jaguars A

-

SAINTS edged Jaguars A 6-4 in a successful allday softball tournament hosted by Park Panthers Softball Club at Londt Park on Saturday.

The teams participated in two groups in the round-robin stages.

Saints beat Stardrift and Jaguars B in their first two games and then got the better of Glenville, who are known for league upsets, in the final group 1 match.

Saints progressed to the final to face Jaguars A, who claimed maximum points from group 2 by beating Drifters and Griffins as well as grabbing a win from tournament hosts Panthers in the last round-robin match of the day.

Saints just managed to clinch the win in another nail-biting final over Jaguars A.

Both teams fought hard until the end with the result ending in 6-6, but due to the all-day tournament time cut-off rule the score reverted back to the previous frames results of 6-4 to Saints.
