‘Fifty Shades’ peep show
Pre-screenings at Nu Metro
FIFTY SHADES DARKER directed by James Foley, starring: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Kim Basinger
Anew year, a new Fifty Shades of Grey film. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan return for the second instalment in the trilogy of films adapted from E L James’s phenomenally successful erotic novels.
As with the first film, Fifty Shades Darker will be released on Friday February 10, in time for Valentine’s Day on February 14.
The final film of the three, Fifty Shades Freed, has already been scheduled for February 9 2018.
However, the interest from viewers has been so great that Nu Metro at Walmer Park and the Boardwalk has arranged special pre-screenings ahead of the official opening with a Girls’ Night Out on February 7 and two more previews on February 8 and 9.
“Pre-screenings are a great way for moviegoers to see the film before the official opening. It helps spread the word and the hype about the movie,” NuMetro Walmer Park manager Mark Whitnall said.
“Nu Metro has a Girl’s Night Out once a month and this is the perfect title for ladies to get together and just enjoy themselves.”
In the latest film, Fifty Shades Darker, Ana Steele and Christian Grey’s contentious relationship is back on track after she left the bondage-enjoying billionaire at the end of the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey.
Although things seem to be going well – with Steele demonstrating her financial independence by paying a restaurant bill while enjoying a jaunt on Grey’s yacht, and declaring: “This time, no rules, no punishments, and no more secrets” – homicidal ex-girlfriends are lurking in the not-too-distant future.
As with the first film, Fifty Shades Darker has lined up major musical acts for its soundtrack, including Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift, who have contributed their duet, I Don't Want to Live Forever.
The sequel is directed by James’s husband, James Foley, after Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson stepped away from the franchise after making the first film.
Niall Leonard has adapted James’s novel for the screen.
