Tight 3-2 victory for Young Ideas

YOUNG Ideas clinched their third win in the ABC Motsepe League this season with a tight 3-2 win against City Lads at the NU 2 Motherwell Stadium.

Despite the win, Ideas are still second from the bottom of the log, with 17 points from 21 matches.

With just nine matches to go before the closure of the season, the win could just be the kick the team needed to get their confidence levels back and start winning matches.

If the Motherwell side continues to collect positive results they could escape relegation.

Meanwhile, Morning Stars and Subs played to a 0-0 stalemate in a Bay derby, also over the weekend.

Things still look the same at the bottom of the Motsepe log. Stars are bottom, with 12 points from 20 games.

Subs are just two places above them, with 20 points from 20 matches.

Callies collected their eighth loss in the league when they went down 2-1 to league contenders EC Bees.

The Bay side came back from three consecutive defeats to beat Walter Sisulu University 3-2 last week, but failed to keep the momentum going.

Callies are still sixth on the log with 33 points from 21 games.
