Four held in possible link to theft at farm

FOUR men who could be linked to a theft at a Kirkwood farm earlier this month were arrested yesterday.

Police spokeswoman Captain Gerda Swart said the arrests followed a tip-off.

“At about 2am, police on patrol saw a bakkie that matched the description given in the tip-off,” she said.

“They search it and found a compressor and containers filled with about 200l diesel. Officers believe these goods could have been stolen from a farm near Kirkwood.”

The four suspects, aged between 22 and 28, are expected to appear in the Addo Magistrate’s Court today.
