Historian at GFI for talk on book

FOGARTY’S Bookshop is hosting author Dean Allen at the GFI Art Gallery next week for a presentation on his book Empire, War & Cricket in South Africa: Logan of Matjiesfontein.

Allen’s book, drawn from his PhD thesis, centres on Scottish immigrant and entrepreneur James Logan, who backed the first cricket tours from England and by South African players to England.

The event is at 5.30 for 6pm on March 27, at the gallery in Park Drive, Port Elizabeth.

Empire, War & Cricket is published by Zebra Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House SA.
