Titans triumph in key cup clash

-

THE Titans narrowed the gap with the Dolphins to just one point after completing a 33-run victory by the Duckworth-Lewis method over the home team in their key Momentum One-Day Cup match in Durban yesterday.

Chasing down an initial target of 205 in 40 overs, the Dolphins never really came to grips with their challenge after Aiden Markram picked up the wickets of Morne van Wyk and Cameron Delport in his first two overs.

Apart from the four points for their win, the Titans will also take comfort in the knowledge that they have a game in hand over the current leaders, who now have just one match to play against the Knights in Durban on Thursday.

The result of that match could decide the final composition of the top three.

Meanwhile, the Knights thrashed the Cape Cobras by 148 runs at Newlands to keep up their hopes of making the playoffs. – SuperSport
