CHIPPA United will use their two-week international break to recharge as their focus switches back to the league after successfully qualifying for the next round of the Nedbank Cup.

Coach Dan Malesela said he needed his troops to be well rested ahead of their next league game.

“We have been piled with matches [and] are going to have as much rest as possible,” he said.

“Three days of no training at all, come back and train. Have another three days of no training, then come back and train – that’s it.

“We just need to give the players time to rest and also afford them time to see their families.”

Malesela said the break would also help the players grasp instructions they learnt at training.

“You absorb things when you are not active all of the time,” he said.

“I hope this period will help us to do that instead of harming us.”

Chippa beat National First Division side Witbank Spurs 1-0 to book themselves a spot in the last-16 stage of the Nedbank Cup.

The Chilli Boys return to league action on April 2 when they play Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium.

ý Highlands Park beat Maritzburg United 1-0 in a PSL fixture yesterday.
