All but three cars fail to cross the finish line

THE OD Inggs Memorial Run was completed at the weekend.

Of the original 22 entries, two failed to make the start while one did not complete the course. This is a hazard with the temperament of these old cars.

The OD Memorial Trophy went to overall winners Colin and Anne Meyer, of the Border Vintage Car Club (BVC). They drove a 1967 Mercedes Benz 220SE.

They were followed by Peter Fulton and Trevor Hoole of the Eastern Province Vintage Car Club in a 1968 Volvo 144. They received the Linden Wheels Trophy.

The Arch Car Sales Trophy for third place went to John Pringle and Enrico Contrado, also representing BVCC. They were in a 1973 Citroen DS23 Pallas.

Anne Meyer scooped both the Norbert Drager and the John Lee Trophies for being the first navigator and first woman competitor respectively.

The Viv Hill Memorial Trophy for the oldest car entered was awarded to Ron and Pam Gush from the Albany Vintage and Classic Car Club with their 1934 Austin 10. The car completed a difficult route in style without missing a beat.

The 1946 Morris 8 driven by Bill Martin, with his wife, Shirley the navigator, received the Don Lee Memorial Trophy for best presented entry.

The final trophy was presented to the Albany Vintage and Classic Car Club for recording the most places in the top six.
