Relegation fight focus in SAB League

- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

WITH the Safa-NMB SAB League title heading for the NMMU Madibaz cabinet, the focus for the remaining six matches will be on the relegation battle among five teams.

Tailenders Young Cosmos, a safe bet for relegation, play Showvillage United Brothers at the NU9 Stadium.

Brothers are one of three teams separated by one point just above Cosmos.

Island City, on 21 points, host Hearts at Uitenhage’s Jubilee field.

At the top of the log, maximum points against Ikamva Movers will see Madibaz needing just four points from five matches to clinch the title.

In a battle for a possible runnersup berth, Fairvew Rovers host PE Sundowns in Marock Road.

Rovers are third, a point above Sundowns.

Golden Aces, who are a point ahead of Rovers, play Royal Bucks at the Zwide Stadium.

Hearts must beat Island City in Uitenhage to challenge for a top eight spot.

Despatch Pioneers, tied with Brothers a point above City, have a breather with a bye. THE match between PE All Stars and Ama-units on Sunday should be the clash of the weekend in the Nelson Mandela Bay Masters League.

Stars are second, just a point above Units.

While Ama-units had a walkover last week, Stars thrashed Volkswagen 6-3.

Log-leaders Eleven Attackers play Volkswagen at the Molefe field.
