‘WHY I ENTER’

SPAR Eastern Cape and The Herald asked why you enter the Women’s Challenge. This is a snapshot of what you said

Briggetta Mey

Because I love running for those who can’t. I lost family and friends to the big C and always dedicate my runs. When the going gets tough I remind myself of those who would give anything for one more run.

Jaunita Naidoo

Doing my first SPAR Women’s Race this year, and I got 11 other people from work to do it too! PE’s female air traffic controllers are gonna represent!

Debbie Stolsie

I never thought I would ever be able to run but I started a walking and running programme two years ago and I love it.

Those who think running is only for the fittest, the best athletes . . . ordinary ladies like me and you can also do it.

Ancelin Mouton de Boer

I will do as brisk a walk as I can since I am quite overweight, and try to finish the race.

Jenni-Lynn Robertson

I’m on a journey to health and fitness and my goal is to comfortably do a 10km, so what better 10km than one full of ladies with fun in mind?

Zhané Rosé Saais

I’ve made time for everything in life but when it comes to my body I have lost touch. I’m excited to cross that finish line.

Liezel Wait

The SPAR ladies race Always puts a smile on my face. Together with my daughter I will run And like always have lots of fun; We just love the laugh and cheers Beautiful ladies running with no tears!

Mabosi Kotelo

This year I’m celebrating 20kg weight loss. I took on hectic hours working as a volunteer at the Ironman African Championship so this race will be the next step of my celebration.

Chantel Theron Marais

It’s for a good cause and women deserve their day of fame and glamour too!

Taryn Ferreira

My mom Jeannette Ferreira took part in the 10km SPAR ladies race in 2005. She unfortunately collapsed during the race from a brain aneurysm and passed away shortly after. I’ve done the race every year since then in memory of my mom.

Nikita Liebenberg

To make a difference, even if it is the smallest difference :)

Lihle April, 13

I just want to support women because they are great, yay!

Tanya Erasmus

My friend struggled with cancer and lost her fight a year ago. I’d love to honour her.

Roshan Allison

I participate yearly to support all fighting cancer. Women are strong!

Liz Botes

I find it most enjoyable and I love the fun of the men all dressed up, and the crowd.
