SIGNIFICANT, NEWSWORTHY GATHERING

“No coverage of Bloemfontein prayer meeting” (The Herald, April 25). The response from the editor with regard to the question posed by Trevor Moore was rather pathetic, to say the least. No, dear editor, it boggles my mind that such a significant, newsworthy gathering of hundreds of thousands of people could not make it into the newspaper. I agree with Trevor, I also find myself turning to the electronic media for more reliable and up-to-date information.

BENNETT BOTES

I agree, Trevor Moore. It is sad when a reporter relies on a “sister publication” for news. Surely when the “sister publication” failed to supply a report, one of the local reporters could have researched the event and reported in the following day’s newspaper.

JS REPLY to Trevor Moore re the potato farmer. The Herald can escape its dilemma of only printing bad news stories by revealing the article about Angus Buchan in Noseweek. Not what he seems and bad news for Christians.

PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO THE DEPUTY

DOES Bobani know his job description? As deputy mayor? Please help this chap. There’s no ward under UDM. At least spearheading waste dumping, good for him, rather than exposing his incompetency harassing busy officials – or is he getting kickbacks from corrupt officials?

SOKIDO MAYBE somebody should inform our esteemed deputy mayor that he is just that – a deputy.

DEON

WELL DONE, MINISTER BROWN

MINISTER Lynne Brown, I am one of many South Africans who commend you on your findings/ decision with regards to Brian Molefe’s payout.

MARK IF Brian Molefe is worth R30-million after 18 months of mismanagement, imagine what Jacob Zuma will expect after 10 years of misrule. ED KIRWIN
