SA RUGBY HAS BACK TO THE WALL
SO the Blue Bulls (Blou Koeie) suffered a humiliating 62-24 defeat to the Crusaders. Six Springboks looked more than average against a well-organised, highly skilled New Zealand outfit. Please explain to me how a Bulls pack with a weight advantage of 40kg of pork is shoved off the ball? And folks are asking for the heads of our Kings, who are ahead on the log compared to the men from the north. What a joke. I’m afraid if they ever adopt Nick Mallett’s suggestion of combining teams, viz Bull and Lions, almost every member of the Bulls squad will be without a contract. South African rugby has its back to the wall.

SABC INCITING RACIAL HATRED
WHY is the SABC allowed to use Isidingo to broadcast racially offensive episodes which are full of Illegal hate speech and actions? Surely they must be liable for prosecution for inciting violence and racial hatred?

FALSE ADVERTISING PERHAPS?
TELKOM boldly advertises “free cordless phone” as a housewarming present from the company. I asked the technician who installed my landline for the free phone. He told me to go to their branch at Walmer Park. There I was told that they stopped that offer two years ago, but cannot get the wording removed from their statements!

THANKS TO ALL FOR HELP WITH ID
I HEREBY wish to thank Charlene Davids, Marayke and assistant of Ward 12, Malabar, for their huge effort in assisting me to get my ID. And special thanks to our mayor. God bless you all. Long live the DA. Come on 2019. I have been to and fro at the Home Affairs in Govan Mbeki for a year with negative results. Now it’s done and dusted within three weeks. Thanks again.

PAYING TAX ON TAXES
I WOULD like to know why we are charged VAT on our vehicle licences – after all, a licence is de facto a yearly tax in itself.

CATTLE ON THE PAVEMENTS
WHO do I have to ask at the municipality if I can graze about 100 cattle in Summerstrand? I see that the DA-led council only allows some people to do this and I think we should all be allowed to graze cattle or goats on the pavements of Summerstrand. Maybe the bylaws could be amended to allow us to keep pigs in our front yards. Could the mayor respond to that please?

NO MEDICATION – IT’S ALL TRUE
I JUST read the article about the discontinuation of anti-depressant drugs for state patients. I myself have been on anti-depressants for decades due to suffering from PTSD. I feel your pain and frustration because, like myself, I have to pay cash for my meds as most medical aids do not cover anti-depressant drugs, which are expensive. I would also like to state that a patient has to be weaned off gradually over a period of time because it can cause dire results to suddenly go off it. The importance of patients taking these drugs is mainly to feel like a normal human being and carry on with their daily lives.

RE “No money for meds” (The Herald, May 8). All true. We patients waiting to see the doctor last Thursday were all sent home as he didn’t turn up. Now what?

DEPARTMENT DIDN’T PAY FOR LAPTOPS
RE “Laptops for teachers not top priority” (The Herald, May 5). Vodacom paid for the teachers’ laptops as part of their corporate responsibility, not the Department of Education.
