Leaders Golden Heroes can land double strike

- Mogan Segadavan

GOLDEN Heroes should bag maximum points in their Wafa Premier League double header this weekend.

The log leaders play Airport Valley tomorrow and Brazil United on Sunday. Both teams have been well below par so far.

African Aces, who lost 1-0 to Heroes in a thrilling encounter last week, play Manchester United and Morning Stars.

While they should beat United with ease, the match against Stars has the makings of a humdinger.

Aces and Stars were tied with Heroes at the top of the log last week with Heroes ahead on goal difference.

After making light work of African Aces last Saturday, Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Madrid.

Stars have a tough match against Mabayibone Strikers tomorrow. Strikers made a late start to the season but are already among the front-runners.

Both Popular and Gwala Stars have been booted out of the league and all their records will be expunged from the log.

Fixtures:

Tomorrow: Golden Heroes v Airport Valley United, Eleven Experience v Brazil United, Manchester United v African Aces, Morning Stars v Mabayibone Strikers, Peace United v Real Madrid, Ghetto Stars v Walmer Stars Sunday: Young Aces v Ghetto Stars, Airport Valley City v Manchester United, Brazil United v Golden Heroes, Mabayibone Strikers v Peace United, Walmer Stars v Walmer Hotspurs, African Aces v Morning Stars AFTER the spate of draws last week, there should be some positive results when the final firstround fixtures in the Masters League are played at three venues this weekend.

Last week, five of the seven matches ended in draws.

Log-leaders Ama-Units, who were held to a shock 0-0 draw by Sparks, should get back on form when they play Zwide All Stars at the Molefe field.

Volkswagen, who have been the disappointment of the league so far, will be hoping to continue from where they left off last week.

After a string of poor results, they picked up a point with a goalless draw against Young Pirates. They are up against PE Eleven.

Eleven Attackers, who were also brought down to earth last week by Joe Slovo, should get back on the winning trail when they take on Winners.
